Moving On – Year 6 to Year 7
Once you have received confirmation of your place with us, we will begin to prepare you for what to expect when you join our school in September. When we visit your primary school, we will provide you with Moving On pack – a drawstring Blue Coat bag which contains our Transition Challenge, a book for you to read during the summer holiday and a workbook to complete once you have read the book.
Transition Challenge
Our Transition Challenge will ask questions which will help you think about how you are getting to school, start to learn your way around the school building, and contains QR codes for you to complete quizzes which test your knowledge and allow you to ask any questions which will be answered during your Transition Evening at Blue Coat.
Transition Reading (The Odyssey)
Pupils are expected to read and engage with each chapter in the Odyssey, which will help them to complete the associated activities over summer. To support struggling readers or those who prefer to listen to the book, staff across the Trust have filmed videos of themselves reading a chapter.
