We are keeping a close eye on Coronavirus and monitoring in relation to our daily events and activities. We are doing this following Department for Education and Public Health England guidance which all schools are receiving daily. As of now, the advice is that we continue as normal which is what we are doing. The advice for families and children about preventative ways to stop the spread of the Coronavirus focus on good personal hygiene as per the information in the public domain and we have spoken to the children about this. There is some further advice and guidance below about what to do if people feel unwell or have travelled from different countries and they feel unwell:
If you have travelled to the following Category 1 locations you should contact NHS 111 for further advice and self isolate for 14 days even if asymptomatic.
- Wuhan City and Hubei Province (China)
- Daegu or Cheongdo (Republic of Korea)
- Any Italian town under containment measures
If you have travelled to any of the following Category 2 locations you do not need to undertake any special measures and can continue to attend school but if you develop symptoms you should self isolate and call NHS 111
- Hong Kong
- North Italy
- Republic of Korea*
- * Except areas of the country specifically referred to in Category 1.
Regardless of whether pupils have travelled to any of the affected areas, they should also self-isolate for 7 days if they start to show either of the following symptoms:
- A new and continuous cough
- A high temperature (37.8 degrees or above)
